The Tasmanian Tiger became extinct as when the european settles arrived,bounty schemes were established to control the numbers.The Van Diemen's Land Company introduced bounties on the Tasmanian Tiger as early as in the year 1830.28 years later, the tasmanain government paid 1 dollar per head till the year 1909.The erosion of the habitat and cocurrent extinction of prey species may also be the cause of extinction.
With the Tasmanian Tiger extinct, there is 1 less animal to control the numbers of the other animals which carnivores prey on. For example,overpopulation of kangaroos in Australia.
